As the room cleared out for dinner, a chip leader emerged from the field (literally) and gave us the scoop.
Tony Tran (Bensalem, PA) was an alternate and made it into the tournament quite late. He then proceeded to felt three players at his first table. He's moved twice since then, landing at table three.
Tony Tran
"I've just been hitting everything" he said. As of the dinner break, Tony is up to 250k, so we're declaring him the chip leader.
Winter must be Tony's time to run good. At last year's Borgata Winter Open, he finished second in the $300 No Limit tournament, good for $8,258.
There are 77 tables still in action, so at most there are 770 players still in the fight. That makes the average stack almost 61k.
