George Fotiadis (Newbergh, NY)
$15,832
Fotiadis rode some hot hands late in the tournament and defeated John McCarthy to win the tournament.
After he gave McCarthy one double-up, Fotiadis still had a 1.5 to 1 chip lead (900k to 675k), and on the final hand both players had flush draws on the flop. When a third spade hit the board Fotiadis takes the title with the higher flush.
"I played awesome the whole time," said Fotiadis, "I was super confident from the beginning. I've been crushing the games at home and told them I was going to win it."
Fotiadis held Q♠ 5♠ 3♠ 10♦ on the final hand to win $15,832 and the Borgata trophy as the Event 5 Champion.
